Purpose

To enhance public safety by reducing offender recidivism.

  • Statewide strategic approach to create safer neighborhoods through the delivery of a seamless plan of prisoner re-entry services.
  • All services are delivered in collaboration with state and local agencies to provide the tools necessary for returning citizens to a successful transition into the community.
  • 143 total returning St. Clair County Citizens were served in (FY 24: 128) (FY 23: 77).
  • Of those served, 72 received transitional housing services (FY 24: 76) (FY 23: 42) and 67 received public/private transportation assistance (FY 24: 74) (FY 23: 28); 2 received behavioral health assistance (FY 24: 15) (FY 23: 7), 9 received assistance with getting ID (FY 24: 20) (FY 23: 12), 16 received food assistance (FY 24: 9) (FY 23: 9), and 52 received clothing assistance (FY 24: 47) (FY 23: 32). Four (4) received employment services, including assistance in obtaining tools or other necessary work-related items (FY 24: 12) (FY 23: 10).
  • Region-wide (7 counties), our job placement rate was 50.4 % (FY 24: 51.6%) (FY 23: 48%), and job retention (12 months or longer at the same job) was 56.9 % (FY 23: 51.6%) (FY 23: 48%).
