On November 7, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court issued an emergency stay blocking a lower court’s order that required the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to release full November SNAP benefits nationwide. As a result, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) paused any remaining benefit payments.

Additional Resources for SNAP Users

Double Up Food Bucks
Double of Food Bucks is part of SNAP and matches fruit and vegetable purchases dollar for dollar, up to $20 a day. This allows for twice the amount of fresh produce. Available to Michigan Bridge Card holders, benefits are valid through December 31, 2025. Currently, two participating locations in St. Clair County include Country Style Market in Port Huron and VG’s Grocery in Marine City.

Expanded Double Up Food Bucks Program
Expanded access and flexibility now help families build savings on their Double Up cards, and the new Double Up Bonus Bucks—a limited-time $40 voucher—can be used without a matching SNAP purchase for fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables beginning Nov. 1.

Propel App
SNAP users in households of three or more who receive the maximum SNAP allotment can download the Propel app to access a one-time $50 emergency cash benefit, with virtual GiveCards delivered in 1–2 days and physical cards in 2–3 weeks, while supplies last.
